80 Proof
December 13, 2018We recently had the privledge of spending a Friday evening at Chicago's 80 Proof, located on the North Side in the Old Town/Lincoln Park area. The event was a company holiday party to celebrate, well... The holidays of course. We were able to take some moments to enjoy the atmosphere and grab a few photos. First things first, the 80 Proof staff was extremely awesome. Very courteous and helpful in every way. They receive some serious high fives!
80 Proof is three floors of fun, with our photo booth being located centrally on the thrird floor overlooking Wells St. This area is perfect to accomodate any large gathering for any occasion. Plenty of space for seating and mixing and mingling. 80 Proof would be a great choice for parties, corporate events, brand activations etc. One of it many bars is located on this flooor and serveral TV screens display some throwback music artwork and some funny drinking humor slides. They also have some really cool wall art and a floor to ceiling shelf with some retro old school mucic equipment.
The ambiance
They had the place decked out for the season just to make sure all were in the holiday spirit. Just below the DJ booth (Which is built INTO THE WALL - How cool ) stood a Christmas tree that was very handsomely decorated. Ligths, garlands, reefs and other festive ornaments were throughout the three floors.
The DJ played a tight mix of some new and old school tunes and had a good sense of the right time to play what. As the night progressed the energy of the music matched the vibe of the moment and vice versa.
Food/Service
As stated previously, the service here is awesome. And while we can't speak in great detail about the cuisine, we were able to try a few items from the buffet and my particular favorite was a brussell sprout dish that was simply the best I've eaten. Like serioulsy, I'd return just for that dish! They also had other options such as salads, flatbreads, sliders, chips with dip, and a desert table.
And who doesn't love donuts!? Well how about a donut wall. Yes, that have that too. And note to self... that thing would make a great photo booth backdrop props!
I was also told about it's brunch buffet which is three floors of food and drinks on Saturdays and Sundays from 10AM - 3Pm. For more information, check out this Link
Final Impression
Very nice atmosphere for any social event you could think of. Plenty of space and room. It overall would be a great place to go for drinks, bruch/dinner and dancing. And of course for a photo booth!
Photo Booth Fun
And oh yeah, about the photo booth... It was awesome! I'd like to think we were the highlight of the evening! Guest were able to unwind and have some fun taking silly pictures with holiday photo booth props and then post them immediately to their social profiles using our social media sharing station. All sessions are also created into an animated GIF like below. How cool is that!
